About JNVST

JNVST is conducted by CBSE each year to select talented students for admission in Class-6 in JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA across India.

CBSE has designed JNVST in such a manner that ensures selection of talented children from rural areas without any difficulty. Sufficient publicity is done through different mode of advertisement which includes Doordarshan, All India Radio, local newspapers, pamphlets, Vidyalaya websites etc.

    JNVST : Eligibility Criteria

  • To apply for admission, the candidates must be a resident of the district where the JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA JNV is situated.
  • The candidate must be studying in Class-V for the entire academic session in a Government / Government-Aided, other recognized school or 'B' Certificate Competency Course of National Institute of Open Schooling, in the same district where he / she is applying for admission
  • Candidate applying for admission must be within the age group of 9 to 13 years.
  • A candidate can claim admission from rural quota if he / she have studied and passed Classes- III, IV and V from a Govt. / Govt. Aided / recognized school spending one full academic session each year in a school located in a rural area.
  • Any candidate can appear in JNVST only once.

    JNVST : Composition of Exam

  • JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA Selection Test ( JNVST ) can be given in any one language out of 20 notified languages.
  • Papers of JNVST Class-6 consists of :
    • Mental Ability 60 Minutes 50 %
    • Arithmetic 30 Minutes 25 %
    • Language 30 Minutes 25 %


     

    JNVST: Procedure to Register Online

  • The process for submission of application for JNV Selection Test has been simplified through online process. Registration can be done free of cost through the admission portal of NVS linked through www.navodaya.gov.in and https://www.nvsadmissionclasssix.in.
  • The eligible candidates for admission have to fill up the online form and upload the certificate issued by the Head Master / Principal where the candidate is studying in class V with the photograph along with signatures of both candidate and his / her parent / guardian.
  • In case of candidates from NIOS, candidates should obtain 'B' certificate and residence should be in the same district where he / she is seeking admission.
  • In all Jahawar Navodaya Vidyalaya a help desk will be available to assist the candidates / parents to upload application for admission free of cost.

    JNVST : Issue of Admit Cards

    The admit card for JNVST are made available from the month of December and March in respect of phase 1 exam and phase 2 exam for class VI JNVST respectively on application portal which can be downloaded free of cost by the candidates / parents before the conduct of JNVST.


     

    JNVST : Documents to be submitted at the time of Admission

  • Proof for date of birth.
  • Proofs for eligibility as per the conditions of NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI.
  • For candidates seeking admission under rural quota, the parents will also have to submit a certificate from the competent authority to the effect that the child had studied in an Institution / School located in a rural area.
  • Residence Certificate in prescribed proforma in case of NIOS study only.
  • Apart from above mentioned documents other documents may be required at the time of admission

    Lateral Entry for Class-9 & Class-11

    To utilise the resources available in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to its full capacity, vacant seats in Class-9 are filled up through Lateral Entry Test. One can also take admission in Class-11 through Lateral Entry. Lateral entry in JNVs totally depends on availability of vacant seats in those Classes.     Navodaya Result Class 6 JNVST

    General Information

    You already know that lakhs of Students appear for JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA Selection Test (JNVST) for admission in JNVs every year. NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI NVS, generally declears the result for JNVST in the end of March or beginning of April for the first Phase and in the Month of May for the second Phase.

    Although we update our website as soon as the Navodaya result is decleared, We suggest you to check the JNVST Result section of official website of NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI for any update related to Navodaya Result Class 6 JNVST .

    NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI NVS generally conducts the phase 1 of JNVST for Class - 6 in the month of January. Those who qualify the Phase 1 of JNVST appears in the Phase 2 exam. JNVST phase 2 for Class - 6 generally gets conducted in the month of April same year. The result for JNVST Phaes 2 is generally announced in the month of May.

    How to get Result for Class 6 JNVST

    Navodaya result of JNVST is generally expected to be announced by March and May for Phase 1 and phase 2 class VI JNVST respectively. Candidates can get the result from the admission portal announced by NVS. The result will also be displayed in the offices of the concerned
